Ict Systems Support Officer

We are looking for an enthusiastic, hard working and self-motivated professional to join the Council’s ICT support team. You will be based at the main Council offices in Cannock and be involved with the support of the Council’s networked ICT desktop services to its users.
The successful applicant will come from an ICT background with sound knowledge of PC technology hardware, software, operating systems i.e. Win2003/XP/Vista. You should show experience of installing configuring, testing and implementing hardware and software applications. A knowledge of active directory administration and windows server 2003 would be required.

The role of the ICT Systems Support Officer will be to provide high quality desktop, application, communication and network support service to over 500 users. Therefore a good knowledge of ICT systems and information management is essential, so will experience of solving problems of a complex nature, ideally in an ICT environment.

You will be self-motivated and enthusiastic and have the ability to work on your own or as part of a team. You must possess a flexible but organised approach to work and have the ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines. You must also have a methodical and committed approach to work and completing tasks.

You should have a sound working knowledge of networked PCs and Microsoft Windows packages including Microsoft Office. A good knowledge in Windows Server technology is also required. You will need good problem solving and diagnostic skills and a genuine customer focused approach to service. The successful applicant will hold a Level 4 NVQ ICT qualification or equivalent.

Due to the nature of the ICT support service it may be necessary to support the on call arrangements. There will also be the need to cover the office till 5.30pm on weekdays.
