Forest Heath District Council is a successful high performing authority committed to achieving excellence in all aspects of service delivery. The Council is progressive and committed to the development of staff and achieving the highest levels of service delivery. We are aiming to enhance our sustainability role within the authority by appointing a Sustainable Development Officer.

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, highly motivated individual to join the Environmental Protection Team to develop and promote sustainable development within the district.

You must be creative and innovative with a sound understanding of the principles and practices of sustainable development. You will also be responsible for developing and promoting home energy conservation and act as the lead officer on energy efficiency. The above post has been recently re-evaluated in response to the government’s sustainability and climate change agendas.

Excellent IT skills are essential and due to the high degree of customer interaction, it is imperative that you can relate well to people and can communicate at all levels.

You must be educated to degree level and ideally possess experience in project management, partnership working, and securing community involvement.
