The post of Director of Business Planning and Analysis is located in the Finance Department of the Partnership and reports to MHP’s Finance Director who has overall responsibility for the finances of MHP on a day-to-day, medium and long term basis. The post holder will be required to liaise closely with other Directors to develop and assess the Partnership’s Corporate Plan.
The post will support the Development Strategic Management Team which decides on the main development and regeneration schemes. The post holder will be responsible for the delivery of the Partnership’s Financial Plan and draft Corporate Plan, working closely with colleagues across the Partnership. The main purpose of the role is to:
• Assess all new business opportunities in the context of MHP’s business plans and a fundamental level of commerciality and viability
• Provide advice to the various committees and management teams on the viability of projects individually and collectively and to advise the Finance Committee on the direction of Business planning
• Collaborate with Development management team and the MHP Development Director in handling the negotiations on projects and in developing improved viability
• Develop the Partnership’s Corporate Plan and reflect changes in future forecasts
• Provide ad-hoc appraisals and analysis of business opportunities or development proposals
It is essential you are a highly experienced and visible business leader with demonstrable experience of guiding stakeholders through financial analysis in a diverse, complex and regulated business environment. The candidate will be a qualified accountant with considerable and demonstrable experience of financial management at a senior level, particularly with regards to project viability analysis and will also have experience of business planning and the development of strategic corporate strategies. The individual will have excellent analytical skills, well developed communications skills both verbal and non-verbal, and will have strong IT literacy, as detailed in the job profile.
It is desirable the candidate has a knowledge and understanding of the Housing/Construction/Property sectors and would ideally be educated to Masters or degree level, or equivalent with, perhaps, an appropriate professional qualification. An understanding of Public Sector financing would also be of advantage.
