This is a challenging opportunity for an innovative leader who can influence the future direction of an evolving and expanding academic department.

The Department of Engineering Science is recruiting a Head of Finance and Administration to take responsibility for the effective management and administration of the non-academic aspects of the Department. You will lead the strategic business planning and operational running of the Department, working closely with the Head of Department as a key member of the senior management team, and ensuring the full alignment of support functions with academic priorities.

You will be a graduate or equivalent, and be able to demonstrate sound judgment under pressure. Additionally you will be able to think laterally and creatively to take and implement important, complex and difficult decisions, managing multiple work streams simultaneously. Extensive experience at a senior level encompassing financial and personnel management is essential for success in this role. You will be an effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills and a proven ability to lead, to manage change, and to encourage a team-based approach across various disciplines. Ideally you will have experience within higher/further education, or other large, complex organisations.

The salary offered will be determined in discussion with the successful candidate and on the basis of qualifications and experience.
