Medway Council’s dynamic media and internal communications team is responsible for the council’s relations with print and broadcast media. The team handles hundreds of media enquiries each month as well as developing proactive campaigns to promote the council’s work. As well as media relations the team is also responsible for public relations and internal communications with staff and elected members.

In this role you will be involved in supporting the work of the team, including writing news releases, responding to media enquiries, assisting with public relations activities as well developing new internal communications activities. You will also be responsible for tracking the effectiveness of the team’s work through monitoring coverage and producing regular reports.

Candidates for this role should have a relevant qualification (e.g. CIPR, journalism, degree) or have some experience working in a PR, media relations or publicity role.
