The Energy Centre for Sustainable Communities (ecsc) is seeking to recruit an experienced project manager to continue the development and management of an innovative and exciting local authority led carbon reduction programme.

The Oak Tree Low Carbon Community Programme has been developed in partnership with Woking Borough Council and Thameswey Energy as a means of delivering significant reductions in both domestic CO2 emissions and domestic water consumption within the Borough.

The Oak Tree Programme will recruit at least 1000 households by the end of its first phase in 2012 and will help each one along the pathway to becoming a ‘Low Carbon Home’; reductions in emissions from household energy use of 60% to 80% or more.

ecsc is part of the Thameswey group of companies which design, build, finance, own and operate combined heat and power projects in Woking and Milton Keynes as well as providing sustainable energy solutions for public and private sector bodies across the UK.

Working closely with and reporting directly to the Operations Manager you will manage a range of projects seeking to reduce carbon emissions through increased take up of energy efficiency and renewable energy measures. This will include:

  • Provision of strategic direction and management of the project reporting regularly to the project sponsor and stakeholders.
  • Develop products and services aimed at assisting local residents in reducing their household energy and water consumption.
  • Maintain long term view of resources (human and financial) available to the programme.
  • Delivering presentations, workshops and awareness events within businesses, local authorities, community groups and other private sector organisations.
  • Assisting with the day to day management of an installer network and product supply chain, dealing directly with contractors on specific jobs where necessary.
  • Providing advice to members of the public on the most appropriate ways to save energy and to reduce household carbon emissions.
  • Management and development of staff involved in the programme.
  • Develop and manage the strategy for branding, communications and promotions to achieve the programmes targets.
