Ealing has a rich cultural history and has become a preferred destination for shopping, dining, entertainment and nightlife. Home ownership is unusually high and as more people and new businesses have moved into the borough, demand for high-quality affordable homes has risen.
We need to face this challenge head on and to do this we are embarking on an ambitious programme of change for the Council’s housing stock. We are committed to improving our housing estates and neighbourhoods, and increasing access to affordable housing. In fact, over the next 10 years we aim to create a place to live that is second to none in London.
The scale of work that is both planned and already underway will open up many opportunities for regeneration officers. With our estates review completed we have identified an initial seven estates for major intervention.. Add to that a number of other estates where we know there is a need for significant improvement and it means these roles will offer a chance to work on a huge variety of projects, together with opportunities to act in a leadership capacity on certain ones, which will enable you to develop a broad set of professional skills.
You’ll focus on supporting the Regeneration Managers by providing effective monitoring of budgets and timescales to ensure projects are delivered successfully, and working with residents, developers and RSLs to keep people up-to-date and informed on progress.
You’ll need experience of project management and be the kind of person who can work alongside, and communicate well with, a wide variety of audiences. Previous experience of delivery of regeneration
schemes will be an advantage but isn’t essential. In either case we’ll provide access to a wide range of training to bring you up to speed with all aspects of your role.
For an informal discussion about this role please contact Cathy Osbornon 020 8825 5037.
