MST is one of the largest and most highly regarded support organisations in the country. Working to increase the independence and wellbeing of our service users across Greater London, the East of England, South Yorkshire and the Midlands, we expect a lot from our people but in return our rewards and career development opportunities are first class.

Migration has huge implications for us as an organisation and the nation as a whole. As part of our Research and Consultancy Unit, you can help reveal key trends in the migration arena by leading research consultancy projects. You’ll be responsible for writing and presenting research project proposals for a wide range of clients, as well as identifying business opportunities generally. What’s more, you can add to your experience by contributing to our overall Research and Consultancy strategy.

Having worked in a research-based consultancy, you’ll be skilled at writing winning research proposals, managing projects and making recommendations to clients. You understand the commercial requirements involved and have a good grasp of UK migration policy and applied research techniques. Relevant research experience in migration, refugees and asylum seekers, community cohesion or diversity would be ideal. With this expertise, plus proven consultancy and communication skills, you’ll build on your record of winning research contracts.

Additional Information:

The Research and Consultancy Unit (RCU) is a division within the Migration Foundation, part of Metropolitan Housing Partnership. The Migration Foundation is funded by an internal funding pot specifically reserved for the benefit of new migrants which includes asylum seekers and refugees.

The overall aim of the Migration Foundation is to benefit new migrants by promoting innovation, influencing policy and involving communities. The Foundation is made up of three parts: (i) the RCU (ii) Funding Activities in Partnership and (iii) Sharing Learning and Influencing Policy and Practice. Each component of the Migration Foundation will align and develop its own strategy and concentrate on key priority areas which include: Employment and Integration, Health and Well Being and Housing and Neighbourhoods.

The RCU was set up in 2007 and has undertaken and commissioned a number of research projects focusing upon integration and equality, developing a reputation in the new migrant policy arena as well as broader practitioner networks. Having received internal funding since its inception, as from April 2010, it will become self financing through its delivery of consultancy contracts with Local Authorities, Third and Private sector and Government bodies.
