Research Osteologist

We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic Human Osteologist to join our current team. Reporting to our Senior Curator of Osteology, you will help deliver the Museum’s programmes of exhibitions, public services and collections management by assisting with researching, documenting and managing the collections of human remains. You will work both within the Department of Early London History and on cross-divisional projects, and, where necessary will take specific responsibility for projects or parts of projects.

You will play a role in the development of the Centre and independent research interests will be encouraged.

You must have a first degree in Archaeology or a related subject and post-graduate qualification in Osteology or a related subject or an extensive background in Osteology. Proven ability in the analysis of human remains, knowledge of current legislation and guidelines are essential and so is a good general knowledge of British Archaeology.

The closing date for applications is 3rd September 2008 at 5pm. Interviews will be held on 23rd September 2008
