A Partnership between Thames Valley Probation and the Thames Valley Partnership

Building on sound practice and solid research

In this key role you will prepare and facilitate Restorative Justice Conferences to reduce re-offending and improve the satisfaction of victims of crime.

You will plan and provide the appropriate intervention from sentencing to completion (in both prison and community settings), so as to maximise the number of face-to-face meetings between victim and offender. You will also ensure that offenders and victims are continuously assessed for risk and need, both in terms anti-social behaviour and vulnerability, so that a safe intervention is undertaken.

You must be able to engage with victims and offenders in order to facilitate Conferences, with the ability to identify and assess risk in serious and complex cases.

You will have experience of working in partnership with others in the public, voluntary and private sectors, and have knowledge of Restorative Justice or a related field. A concern to promote anti-discriminatory practice within Restorative Interventions and the criminal justice system more widely is essential. You should be prepared to work towards and achieve the Level 4 Award in Restorative Practice.

Closing date: 14 February 2012.
