Senior Energy and Water Management Offcer

As part of the Strategic Asset and Estates Management Division, you will contribute to the development and implementation of a corporate approach to energy management,

The main duties of the post will be to provide a high quality professional energy and carbon management service to deliver a corporate approach to strategic asset and estate management and the regeneration of the town and ensuring the Council’s land and property portfolio is sustainable and energy efficient

The role will also develop the energy management service to achieve the corporate goal of Blackpool becoming an exemplar Council in implementing sustainable design and creating a low carbon economy, integrating renewable energy technologies to increase the energy performance, reduce carbon emissions and energy costs of Council buildings and services supporting the corporate use of resources priority

The duties will also include undertaking on site investigations to identify, appraise and prioritise energy and water saving initiatives and assist in the delivery of the Council’s Local Authority Carbon Management Strategy Implementation Plan.

Applicants should be educated to Degree or BTEC National Level or equivalent professional qualifications in an Energy Management/ Building Services related subject

Applicants should have at least 3 years experience of non-domestic energy management, building services in a variety of public buildings, energy auditing, utility tariff structures, electronic data logging equipment and be able to identify, design and implement energy and water conservation schemes together with project supervision.

Applicants should also have a commercial understanding of the energy market and procurement practices

Applicants should have excellent communication, IT and customer services skills with experience of reporting to a range of clients.

The successful applicant will have an innovative and pro-active approach to work and the ability to adapt to a changing working environment.
