Senior IT Service Desk Analyst

The Natural History Museum is one of the world’s leading museums, internationally recognised for its dual role as a centre of excellence in scientific research and as a leader in the presentation of natural history through exhibitions and public programmes.
Library and Information services (LIS) are looking for a Senior IT Service Desk Analyst (2nd line) to join the Museum’s ICT Service Desk team. Reporting to the IT Service Desk Manager, you will be responsible for providing first, second and third (when appropriate) line support for all users of ICT Services within the Museum. The Museum Service Desk provides support to around 1200 users mainly on Windows XP with some Apple OS X. While providing a point of escalation for 1st line you will have excellent technical skills and will also on occasion deputise for the Service Desk manager and provide team leadership to others. As part of this role you will be expected to help develop new ideas and processes and will be assigned specific responsibilities and project work. To be successful in this role, as well as good technical skills, you will provide excellent levels of customer service showing good interpersonal skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure. You will also be interested in developing the Service Desk and its services. To assist in your professional development training courses will be offered leading to industry standard qualifications.
