Transformation

The council’s strategic transformation programme consists of a number of key corporate initiatives which are designed to improve efficiency and service delivery through the application of Lean based service improvement techniques. Opportunities exist for Transformation Consultants (1 permanent post and 1 temporary position for initially 6 months) to work in support of service improvement throughout the Council, providing advice and guidance in the identification of new areas of efficiency, service modernisation and improved working methods. These posts offer an excellent opportunity to work with a team of transformation professionals at the heart of the change agenda within the council.

Duties include:
•Promoting modern working methods throughout the Council.
•Providing an effective challenge to processes and procedures that inhibit transformational change
•Communicating with service areas to promote and identify areas for transformational activity.
•Analysing business areas to identify process improvements, delivery methods and standards.
•Undertaking feasibility studies and options appraisals for service improvement.
•Conducting post implementation reviews of improvement plans
•Delivery of assigned transformation projects.

You must have:
•Excellent communication and strong analytical skills
•Knowledge and proven experience of the application of service improvement techniques
•Experience of producing action plans and estimates.
•Good presentational skills
•Substantial relevant experience in a role which includes a business change/service improvement element.
•Knowledge and experience of service improvement techniques including Lean systems principles and the relevance to transformational activities.

Candidates should ask for permission to undertake the role on a secondment basis prior to applying.
