We are looking for a self-motivated individual who can demonstrate high levels of leadership, influencing, negotiation, organisational and communication skills to help us to build on the success already achieved in improving procurement activities within the South West region’s fire and rescue services.
As Regional Procurement Manager, you will have a wide range of strategic responsibilities. Primarily you will take a lead role in the programme management of the regional procurement workstream, directing regional procurement projects, strategies and tendering exercises for a variety of operational and corporate needs. You will be responsible for developing good working relationships and for providing professional advice and support on a wide range of commercial and contractual procurement activities. You will have substantial experience in collaborative procurement within the public sector and a detailed understanding of EU regulations alongside an ability to provide practical guidance on evolving case law, public procurement reforms and practices.
You will also need to have the skills to deliver strategic regional procurements on behalf of other workstreams within the region. Responsible for providing reports and briefings to a wide range of senior stakeholders you will require excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as an ability to travel. Full MCIPS and programme and project management qualifications and experience are essential and, ideally, you will hold a relevant Masters qualification.
