We are giving plenty of thought to the really important issues as we continue to develop our Local Development Framework. From transport to housing and sustainability to climate change, you will consider the biggest challenges that we face as you provide research and generate policy documents for all areas of the Council.
In addition to providing wide-ranging support, you can expect to take ownership of specific policy areas, and you will spend much of your time conducting research and policy appraisals to ensure that development meets the needs of people living and working in the Borough. This will give you involvement in most things we do, and in particular on the development of ambitious plans for regeneration and new neighbourhoods.
You will have extensive exposure to elected members, senior officers and representatives from GOSE, Surrey County Council and Network Rail, so we require an ambitious and capable policy specialist. Qualified or experienced in environmental sciences or planning, you will be a true team player with excellent interpersonal skills, a logical and incisive mind and a proven track record in policy formulation within a local authority or statutory body. Above all, you must be able to work effectively without supervision and to undertake extensive research in order to write clear and concise reports.
For an informal chat regarding this opportunity, please contact Julia Dawe, Policy Development Manager on 01737 276168.
