The Commercial Services unit of KCC operates the LASER Energy Buying Group, providing an energy procurement and contract management service for the supply of electricity, gas and liquid fuels. The Group operates for a range of Local Authorities and other public sector groups largely in London and the Southeast.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead a small team, maintaining an accurate contract database, originating tender processes, evaluating offers and making recommendations to group members. The energy industry is a fast moving, high profile sector and this challenging role requires commitment and dedication to providing a first class service to the growing LASER membership.

You will need a thorough knowledge of the competitive and regulated elements of the energy markets and a sound understanding of EU and public sector procurement rules. Computer literate you will need to use a range of standard and bespoke software applications. With a high level of interaction with suppliers and group members excellent communication skills are essential. You will be expected to be conversant with current best practice procurement methodologies and to be able to contribute to the continuing innovation in flexible procurement.
